Sorry but I’m not a stupid wetback , I’m a white man with and education

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER IN THE WOLF'S EYES_thumb

HAZZARDAYRE UFB HEADER The other day, interviewing for a job with a temp agency here in Burley, I overheard a conversation that I thought was a BOTT (Bit-Over-The-Top) . Here was this guy, who had been working for nearly two weeks and felt he was underpaid , nothing new there since everyone thinks they are underpaid. Thing was this was a white male.

A few moments later, interrupting the interview came in this Mexican male who was wondering why he had to show a proof of insurance for a none CDL job. The job was also pitched at me, and looks like ye ole Wolf here will be working, but if its someone else’s rig your driving, why do they need to see MY proof of insurance?

In both situations I got the feeling that these well attractive young women running this office, perhaps looking hot to prevent skirmishes between management and temp employees, (a subject for a different time) but I got to thinking that these hotties thought they could pull anything over on people, Mexican or not.

No matter what it was.

Throughout my interviewing them, which I feel all should do, sure your going to work, but I think as a prospective employee you should do a complete interview of the prospective employer. The feeling I wanted to udder was, “hey Sorry, I’m not a stupid wetback, I’m a white well educated male.” Its the same thing I see everywhere. Both standing in line at the food store, as well as  at the scene of a toew. Some of my toew bro’s consider Mexican’s as a third class, totally idiotic race and thus try to overcharge if not completely mind blown. And yet for many here in a farming area, these same supposedly idiotic people, are the ones that do the work, so many whites wont, to feed the white man’s mouth.

However for any of us to shun, any race because of simple verbiage or the inability to both read and speak, what is called American English, to me shows the ignorance and arrogance of a pre warp population.

But what about reverse discrimination? Should a Mexican get a job, just because they are Mexican? Should a white guy be turned down just because they are white and none Mormon?

Those questions answered in another edition.

To the gal who partly interviewed me in Burley, Sorry, but I’m not a stupid Wetback, but an educated white male, who knows better.

Perhaps a better title would be, too many wimps not enuff studs. At least in the pre teen and pre 20’s, youth. As a young Wolf I had fallen down off everything from bull calves to mini bikes by the time I was 10 years old. Hopped off of loose hay stacks and wrecked at least two manure wagons by age 12 and even after raced old Ford N Tractors, right there in the feeding chutes. I had at least one broken arm, twisted ankle and I healed. Maybe better because, Mom & Dad looked at it as, Boys will be boys, patched up the bloody parts and I went on with life.

Today parents , do parenting with way too much antiseptic methods and don’t let young males mature. Girls are only slightly better equipped. for life.

I see this with the kids that live next door to me here in Rupert. While only partly adjusted and from various homes, and fathers, I think, are those supervising these kids doing the job properly? I’m sure there were those when I was youth that would ask my Mom & Dad the same question. Thing is that was for different reasons. I was scared of little, accepted dares readily, and never knew the word NO, or can’t be done. This no doubt started when I was 6 years old, when after going to HAFB with Dad to his job there, testing mechanical work done on fighter aircraft as well as cargo birds, I did as I always did , played in this T-39 pleasure craft that was there for use of the base General. Most times the batteries were dead, and thus the aircraft. However on one Sunday it tweren’t. With a bit of thinking of what I had learned reading flight and aircraft manuals , I decided to taxi out of the hangar, and into the wild blue. Remember, this is a military aircraft, while no arms, still had Air Force markings. I was circling Evanston, before anyone got excited. An F-4 , came astern steered me back, but I flew and landed all by myself without any help from the HAFB tower.

After that, got my butt paddled, bike taken away for a month, but shortly after joined the Junior Civil Air Patrol there, and was into flying long before I looked at driving.

I did the wild thing with a gal who baby sat me at age 8 and by age 9 was driving, not legally, but driving. Mom nor Dad ever restricted me from doing anything with the idea of , oh he might get hurt. In many ways, it was more a warning to others that I might hurt them.

The disolvement of the nuclear family of a fixed mom & Dad in the same home with mom & dad being man and a woman , at the same address, enduring internal squabbles. Kids who knew how to work on both farm as well as in urban environments , Hell I enjoyed moving sprinkler pipe, and milking cows. Feeding the lambs, and hogs, was a fun thing. When I was just between ages 7 to 8, I mixed Jim Beam and Similac together. Got sick, but loved the taste. After having a brew in the barn while pulling teats was one of those looked forward family things. And yet, because of them damn white collared bastards, called Health & Welfare amongst other, parents can’t (and wont) swat a kid on its butt, as well as over protect to the point, that our kids never gain any substantial points of reference to guide them through life.

Is there and answer?

That in my next entry,

Ah for the want of The Lady

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER AyreTymez Header

Airwolf_side THE LADY

Ah for the want of the Lady, yes AirWolf. The attack by the Taliban in Afghanistan today reminds us , that even with the decrease on funding of Military aircraft R&D, we need more in the areas of close combat aircraft.

I was at a funeral today of a dedicated stunt pilot. The loss of American forces especially Special Op’s forces cuts deep. We who fly in defense of our freedoms deserve something more than a slap on the back. The need for a memorial for those in combat in a cockpit. The Chinook is not what’s needed, something like the Lady is needed. Support of the efforts of us in the AyreWolvez is as real and fundamental as it has ever been. Currently the AyreWolvez are doing research and development on a heavily armed , mach plus helo, to pass onto our Marine Air units.

Greg Poe past away a few weeks ago, but more all of us in experimental aviation will grieve .

More over, a fund raising drive we started last year, continues. Funds are needed to place a Military Aviation Warriors Memorial Wall at two area airports. One in Buhl Idaho, the other is here in Burley to honor those doing battle in aircraft in our Military.

If you feel you can dig deep, in your pocket, please do so. You can contribute by dropping spare change in the small jars at area business’s like the Wayside Cafe, near the Rupert I-84 interchange, or by sending your contribution to: AyreWolvez Military Memorial Fund, care of the AyreWolvez Military Aviation Association, 824 Meredith #C Rupert Idaho 83350.

As a reminder both meetings of both the AyreWolvez and Knytes Of Anarchy, have been canceled for this evening due to weather. The meetings will take place next week.

Ah for the Love of and need of the Lady,

I’m not going to apologize for being a Confederate American

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER WW2

Gripes are like horseshit its everywhere. Too many of us crap on or complain that America is going into the toilet. And on Capitol Hill in DC it is, sort of. Yet across this great nation, especially the Western Confederate Nation, life is good. Perhaps better than elsewhere. Except in areas of advanced applied thinking, and/or technology, that said, there is value in taking in the true beauty of our western expanse of land, forests, and even western deserts. Waking up to a clear Idaho sky, hearing the soft melodic cooing of the Mountain Doves, and even marveling at the grand order of a Armadillo bug crawling across the dirt , its those times that in words of a song by John Denver, thank God I’m a kountry Boy. Yet few find peace and or tranquility in such things, and just want to see such rural, small town areas only in their rearview, rather than feel it under their feet.

I want, to say this, in Rupert here there is a place called Spinners Grill. The prices are way too high for the quality of food, but, when your served better than average it makes the visit to such a place, worthwhile. Whyle chatting with Kyla there, she related she was going to school to become a massage therapist. Good, but she wants to move away, in search of greener pastures with bright lights.

While bigger cities do offer resources that small town America never will, the trade off is the peace of mind to leave ones door open, at night.

Thus, I will never apologize for being a Confederate American.

Where did summer go?

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER

Where did our summer go this year? Seems as though it just started getting good and warm, and now we are back to cool and damp. Hot and damp is good, especially with a woman in your bed, but not weather wise.

Seems as though less than much has gone right in weather this year. Winter hung on worse than Sheriff Roscoe holding onto Flash and seems that just when you think that you can go play golf, Hong Kong Phooey, no , windy, wet and cooler than normal.

I have said this many times , but I’ll repeat it in this entry as I wonder , how is it that for all the commercial trucks both big and small, that run in our Mini Cassia area, of Idaho, that there are few if any insurance brokers specializing in commercial truck, especially toew truck insurance in our area?

Now here is two things I am concerned about. Bud at this hour is being rushed to the hospital in a meat wagon, will follow up and let all know, that needs to know. Next with some laughter saw the theme to Cassia County Fair this year that goes, “ From Pioneer Days to Modern Days”. Really? Should the theme be , “ From Pioneer days to stagnant” .

Applications are being taken for the Miss AyreWolf/HazzardAyre pageant. For more 411 call me at 208-212-9653.

This years pageant will be much better since it will be held at OUR bar & grill called(what else?) The Reaper Club. Yep right here in Burley.

HazzardAyre TV Viewing is changing and stations need to be ready

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER awdb header1

Television the way you now know it as well as how you knew it is changing. A recent article I read it Broadcast Engineering talked about a report as of May 2011 titled , “ If a TV station broadcasts in the forest “ written by Thomas W Hazlett a professor of law and economics at George Mason University and the managing director of Arlington Economics . Given the title I did not consider or think that the article would be friendly towards the TV industry at least as far as broadcasters is concerned. In Hazlett’s opinion local broadcasters are little more than rusty transmit towers. He went on to say that the TV license continues to hold value not as a gateway to the airwaves but as a toll booth for broadcast network programming. The report goes on this time, calling ota stations a needless expense, propped up not by customer demand (you) technical efficiency or business necessity but legacy regulation generations outdated.

Of course if your like me who grew up in an environment that had four if you were lucky not including the PBS stations but only 3 maybe 4 local network stations with network programming. Of Course in and around Hazzard we had one, KMVT 11 who at the time I grew up was owned by Western Broadcasting Corp. Who was primarily a CBS affiliate, that filled programming in with offerings they felt were safe for YOU to watch by their religious biased opinion. KMVT felt that such shows as Dick Clarks American Bandstand and even NBC’s Emergency was all to racy for YOU to see, especially kids. John Gauge and Roy Desoto running around in that mini paramedic Dodge truck doing multiple rescues was just to much for you to absorb. Then came in the translators.

State wide TV retransmission Translators brought competition to KMVT KTVB brought us Emergency and Adam 12. KBCI gave us CBS programming that KMVT thought to off center to air and KTVB gave us something else, a newscast that was much better than anything being aired by KMVT, situation continues. Its not TV that is outdated its some stations and their head in the sand programmers that’s outdated.

Today we have multiple platforms to see TV, Internet, cable, satellite , TV services like Hulu and Google TV to name a few. Keeping up with Goliath is giving local stations a real challenge, and its not easily met. The national economy which dropped to local merchants has made local TV ad revenue scarce. My thought is why not offer both local production rates as well as air time rates that are relative to the economic times we live in, Not depend on the giants like Wal-Mart, but on local store like Joes Mini Mart might be a direction to travel.

Doing more with less has always been the rule in broadcasting. Engineers often use home built products when the station mangers tell you that buying a fancy gizmo is too expensive.

Of course cable/satellite networks are also blind when peddling air time for advertising. I can tell you that FoX who owns SpeedTV which runs both Wrecked and American Trucker(A title we at HazzardAyre- came up with 5 years ago) as well as the History channel that runs Ice Road Truckers has not extended the welcome mat to trucking industry vendors or suppliers. When was the last time you saw a TV ad on a new Kenworth truck , or a Cat Diesel engine, on one of those shows? When did you see an ad for say Accessories Wholesale(AW) Direct on Wrecked on SpeedTV? Even say Pilot or say Petro Stopping Centers? Even those selling local air time has ignored the industry, and then the crying comes of low income for TV.

Of course, such major sporting events such as NASCAR or the big wedding in London a few months ago, was TV at the top of its game.

We kept in touch and up to date with the debt crisis via TV. The pendulum swings both ways. We see the good, we see the bad. But TV is not dead, but it does need some serious re-creation if its going to stay competitive in the modern environment.

News of the sign up for the Miss AyreWolf/SheWolvez pageant, next entry.

Stay tuned!

HAZZARDAYRE HEADER HAZZARDAYRE DAILY BREEF

I had a bunch of things I wanted to post today, but decided most of them were more on a personal nature and as such declined to post .

If you caught the George Lopez show on TBS last night ya’ll might have caught the poking fun at Casey Anthony gig. This was part of a comedy bit directed at the concept that Kathy Griffin has been nominated for a Emmy.

Wonder how those nominating her would feel about one of their nominees poking fun at both the tragic death of a toddler, and the Mother celeb that she became through as well as both before and after the trial.

If any other radio or TV personality had done that the results would not be pretty.

Comedy is one thing, choosing the subject that is used in the writing as well as in presentation needs to be tethered by some sort moral responsibility.

Remember: Knytes meeting this Saturday at 19:00 hours at the AyreShaq.
