HazzardAyre 24 Logged way too many miles on a forgotten Highway

When I look on this frozen piece of super slab also known as old U.S.-30 through Hazzard and into Twin Falls County, I remember all too much of my own history. As much as the Dukes effected me as a youth long before anything Hazzard ever became a part of my future, I saw myself behind the wheel of 18 wheels logging miles on what now is a highway only of many dreams. As early as 15 years old I harbored visions of being a long haul snuff chewing , coffee drinking trucker. A dream job, seeing the nation through a windshield and delivering the goods. But I had a battle of the mind, whether I truly wanted to wear a badge and go into law enforcement as a crime scene investigator or drive a rig. I just loved all the lights, radios and gizmos that the cops had in their rides. Then there was that romantic hour which seemed to last eons yet only a mere 60 minutes, when wanting to go chase puntain, had to move a cousins toew truck, so I could get my hot rod out of her driveway. The sky opened up, the sun shone in on a white light and the stillness was one of a truly magic moment. Here was my answer. Driving and owning a toew truck, would let me goof with all the gadgets that the cops had. Work with the cops but not for the cops, and yet drive a truck. Of course it was a baby truck , but a commercial truck none the less. For years after all I dreamed of was a toew truck. Mom & Dad, was not so sure. Their requirement? Go work for someone with a toew truck and we’ll see. I worked with two of the best the tragic valley had . John W Nausbaum of Johnny’s Towing of Twin Falls, and Valley Towing & Radiator, also of Twin Falls. That’s where I met her. Little did I know she and I would be together for life.

But that’s getting ahead of ourselves here.

Of course, the first ever released on TV, trucker series was Movin On , but that got boring fast. But then came Greg Evigan and all those hot honeys in trucks and the series B.J. & The Bear. up-KHCM9J35PLKM8IET  What was really groovy was the fact was that B.J. ‘ s COE Kenworth was the same colors that DixieBelle originally wore. Might have been good to have left her that color. But a new real to life trucker feature film came out, that changed that idea. The movie was the film dramatization of CW McCall’s hit single Convoy. With a slightly spiced up set of lyrics. The most noticeable difference was the fact that the featured rig was not that of a Peterbilt or Kenworth, but a big black Mack R700L. 178232089_ca797937ee  The rig was beautiful and the character was as anti establishment as I was and still am. So I said every other toew truck is red(at the time back in the day) and I should and wanted to be different. So DixieBelle became black. Of course, the name on the rig on RD’s truck said R D(Rubber Duck) Trucking. So one of  the first handles I took to light the candle to go toewing was the initials of my then CB handle, Diesel Kid or D.K. Towing. Things might have went better for me if I had stuck to that, but then the Heavy Hooker thing took over, and ya’ll know that history.

But as much as that all changed over the years, being behind the wheel of DixieBelle has been the chosen career I took. And except on a few occasions never looked back or thought twice about it. Until now.

It’s been said that with age, comes wisdom. I don’t know about that, but dreams and aspirations change. By 1994 I found myself married with two adopted teens from her prior marriage. While the Montgomery Foundation Trust sufficed for income we as a family needed more income. My cousin Gordon Sant, through a loan from Mom through his Dad, my Uncle Harrold, bought some rather used biplanes and was into doing crop dusting heavy. His hangar provided shelter and a place to keep DixieBelle in tune, and yet opened my eyes to agricultural aviation. In 1998 I reupped into the Marines, to help pay bills. Major bills. Did a short reserve stint until mid 2000. Discharged and stupidly bought into some bullshit of some sex pot waitress that worked here in Buhl, who owned a house in Goons Ferry Idaho. So moved into the mouse ridden filth nearly falling down not much better than a two story lean too. But I loved to fly. And I still love to fly. It wasn’t until mid 2004 living in Utah with cousin Bud that I found how much. With the first breath of a ongoing recovery of the Montgomery Foundation Trust, Cousin Bud, invested money into Gordon’s operation with some of my own conditions, one I own part of it and two; it got a name I thought was required. The last was we really get rotor craft involved. So an insurance client of Cousin Bud’s had hangar space at Bountiful SkyPark, with $600K and one helluva lot of paperwork. in mid 2005, AyreWolf Aviation really took flight and AyreWolf Aviation became a saving grace. It wasn’t until I stupidly again moved to Goons Ferry, after suffering humiliation and stress over the bullshit of some damn little fartknocker bikini bouncer in Pocatello and thinking that I might get a job at a proposed but never gaining altitude Nuke power plant in Hammett, that I got fatter and out of shape to the point that at my renewal for my GA Recertification that my physical I took, doctor said nope. I have to loose 96 pounds. In essence got grounded. But who was waiting? DixieBelle.

The story about the evolution of DixieBelle, next edition.

HazzardAyre 23 Did Thoust forget?

HAZZARDAYRE HCC HEADER scvlogo2

dossantos-gen-robert-e-lee AyreWolf Watch Header1

It’s very easy to forget , since many Yankees do not cotton to this historical day, but today, Wednesday the 19th of January is our beloved General’s Birthday. Yes it is the birthday of Robert E Lee.

Funny we can have a national holiday for some black guy fighting to rid this nation of oppression, yet the very one that led the charge so many years before, is forgotten. More over that national cemetery for this nations honored military dead Arlington, is after all the front lawn of Robert E Lee’s mansion, and yet we don’t honor him nor the very leaders of the Confederacy. The question I have is; Even those who propose to carry the big stick, in leading the modern, confederacy never hardly even gave mention to this wondrous day. Of course ya’ll know my personal feelings here, and Both General Lee, General Jackson, and Jefferson Davis would all and most likely are rolling in their graves, that a scoundrel like Obama, being not of our native soil, as well as black, is in the White-House. Then we also or at least, some wonder why there are reports almost daily of some bazaar shooting somewhere. Today there was one in California at a high school again, and a cop gets whacked, its a condition that there is no respect for authority, and a FOR ME ONLY attitude, that our nation has grasped, rather than the love of Kahless(God), and our neighbors, as people, not just someone to bum from. Or thinking , what can I get out of my neighbor today. There is the passage in the Holy Bible, that sezz, If your neighbor is in need, help him, if he is cold without a coat, give him your coat, if he is in need of feed, feed him. Without thinking, about recouping the gift of kindness for ourselves. Yet we have forgotten these things. Praising only those things, man has made not praising what God has created. We as humans are only a tool, in a grand tool box, that God uses to carry out his plan. Not our plan. Yet we forget these things. Our Southern Confederate ancestors took these things dearly. Its time for us to take to arms for Dixie. If we don’t there will not be a nation.

Tonight, as you say your prayers, say one to honor our Confederate Veterans, especially today, for Robert E Lee.

HAZZARDAYRE HCC HEADERAyreWolf Watch Header1

Today was one of those days here in Idaho, that I’d just asoon forget.

Started off, got wetness inside the distributor cap on LiL DixieBelle, and as such found a crack in it. Thus $50.00 for cap, wires and plugs. Outside in the blooming cold that felt like several degrees below zero, even though it said 32 on the bank sign in truth, I’ll bet it was at least 10 below the zero gauge. That done, trying to get rid of a week or two’s flu , and then found out from HQ that my last power bill was $180.00 . $180.00 for this little squirrel trap? They got to be kidding? Paid it, but that is that, no wonder people are shedding frozen Idaho . Shit , I thought that I’d shed well below zero temps in Wyoming four years or so ago. Of course today is what should be a national holiday, is General Robert E Lee’s birthday. A real holiday for all true Confederate’s.

Of course the cost factor is one more reason that Cuzzin Bud is telling me to shed this USMC/DAV/PSR. Obviously as Bud put it, the guy has no grip on things. Granted Bliss is as cold as a deep freeze but , the owners give you a energy credit of $15.00 off your rent. Which makes the cold a bit easier to take. But after the 1st, don’t matter much since , I’m out of here.

Final blog for January is this Friday.

Let ya’ll know why, Thursday.

HazzardAyre 21 Shoot em All , let God sort it out

hazzardayre blog header AYRE TRAFFIC HEADER NEW

Or a more appropriate sub title might be , If your not packing heat, your in danger.

Two weeks ago, there was the shooting in Arizona, that took to innocent lives and put many others in jeopardy. Yet here today we have some kid in some School near Los Angeles, open fyre in the school. A bit of cyber or other bullying? Some other cause? What is going on? Is there constant stimulation on such things? Like way too much on the big and small silver screens? I say take off the Segal movies and put on more Dukes of Hazzard, B.J. & The Bear and Star Trek movies. Heck FastFive the next episodic progression of the Fast and Furious franchise is out next month. Even that is showing kids shooting others. The trouble is, our youth see this , but do not understand there are real and very serious consequences to open firing a fire arm. People die, people are hurt for life, how about films that just gives kids the idea of putting pedal to the metal, building hot rods, hell even falling in lust and having sex. Not open fyring. Heck I’d rather pay for more unwed mothers than seeing the blood and carnage on our streets, in our shopping malls and schools. Dig this, took a run over to the mall yesterday in Twin. Guess what? There is no uniformed security in the place. Even spook cops. None. Nobody thinks its going to happen here. Bullsbreath. Piss someone off enough, and yes it could happen at the Magic Valley Mall in Twin Falls, or any open public gathering place. Now if you think us in toewing are safe, think again. I have read stories and have been near to it, where when doing a repo or a state tax impound seeing someone pull a weapon. I pack in the truck just to be safe. How do you know that when responding to a lock out or road call, that once you get there that its a legit call, and that the driver of the disabled car or truck is not going to pull a gun, once you get there? How do you know that when you quote your price for that call, that someone ain’t going to pull a gun in dispute of the toew charges? Cell phones are great, but a 24/7/365 dispatch on the end of a two way is indispensible. Even if a toewer can’t dial a phone, he or she can still squall over a portable two way. Cops are no help any more. They call, you show up, in many cases run your own traffic control, so guess what? Cop leaves. Its you and the customer. That customer can be walking heavy and your now in the cross hairs. You could get whacked and left by the road, faster than you can imagine. Only in urban areas? Think again. In our more remote rural areas this kind of thing is even more possible. I have at least one solution. Put toewers on rotation, on the same radio systems as the cops. That way at least one of us could call for direct help.

Several years ago, Weber County Utah put all of its toewing companies on a central dispatch system. The Cops left the admission to rotation to toewers not the cops. But that central dispatch, especially at night gave us at least some sort of constant monitoring, to where if something hinckey happened at least there was a resource. The state of Utah is doing good things in this area, and the reason is, is they have a very active toewing organization. Idaho, except for the few in Idaho that belongs to the URCA here, has no real working toewing association. The Idaho Towing And Recovery Professionals Association, is not very effective. That’s a subject for a different blog, but should more of us going toewing pack heat? There is some real problems in the USA, its time that the UCSA got in gear. Or the nation we treasure may no longer be here, more like a degradation to the ways of the old west.

Before I go, and to give way to a more pleasant thought. Have you ever really looked at a female humanoids vagina? I mean really looked at it. Its really ugly. I have seen bulldogs that looked better.

More on that next edition of HazzardAyre News.

HazzardAyre 20 A waste of 75 cents

hazzardayre blog header acdj header_thumb

Saturday, for shits and Giggles I picked up Saturday’s edition of the Twin Falls based Times News. Mainly looking for places to place the Idaho office of and for SAMCRO in Burley.

Any mile, I saw maybe 1 or two real news stories, the rest is fluff, and thought, I might as well , have just tossed out the 75 cents, the window. What did I buy a paper for? Of course Sunday , saw a guy from the paper trying to solicit people to subscribe to the Times News at the Buhl Riddley’s store. Trouble is the folks are not subscribing  because there is nothing to catch the interests if any from the public. There is no real NEWS, just a bunch of fluff that few if anyone wants to read. But I saw some points of interest in Burley. The old office of the Southern Idaho Press there and a few open spaces, made me scratch my head and think, what if someone mainly us in the Knytes were to fyre up a weekly and eventually daily REAL newspaper? Granted from the web and all there are few and fewer people reading newspapers. Newspaper rates for advertising are through the roof, have you priced a newspaper ad recently? What if there was a paper that charged one flat rate, instead of a price per column inch, rate? Gave some real news that people cared about, and did not follow the same path that all the rest of both print, and all media follow? But reported news that will change peoples minds, or change their way of life. Things like a local Sheriffs office that changed the course of the way they dispatch out tow trucks. Splitting a county in two, that will eliminate choice of who tows them , and for what price. Sure a $125.00 per call cap is on the requirements of the tow call, but impound fees etc are going to raise to balance out the $125.00 cap. If one can’t make the price per call, a toewer needs to make it up somewhere. This kind of thing will impact peoples wallets, but did you see anything about this in the Times News? Or on KMVT? The measure by the way , I personally discussed with several outside law enforcement agencies, that think the idea is not only stupid. But unfair. But did you see anything about this in the Times News or on KMVT from the toewers point of view? This is just an example. But points to the limited view that all too many news publications have missed. But the same thing opens up the door for an aggressive news publication like the Hazzard County Gazzette and of course us here at HazzardAyre News.

Okay then, here’s another extension of a troubling situation. Did property values rise for just Twin Falls and/or the immediate area? Case n Point, saw a run down service station in Filer, Idaho. Called on it, could only get the owner to drop the rent from a grand a month to $800.00 a month. But even the Guy said that operational costs were expensive, for heat it costs $500.00 a month, power in the area of $200.00 yet the Guy was only willing to adjust the rent by $200.00? While at the same time, I saw places , including shop space, in the $400.00 a month range, that had much more square footage, and yet costs less? It’s a known that the job market in the mini Cassia area has remained stable, yet costs are less. But have you saw anything about that in the local paper, like the Times News? Or KMVT? Answer; no. Question is why?

Last here. Going to be offline for 4 weeks, moving operations to both Tremonton Utah as well as Burley. As for the Buhl radio station project? Still on the boards, but the idea is get things going in both Utah and the Mini Cassia area first, then revisit the Buhl project. Most likely at the end of 2012.

For officers of both the Knytes and/or AyreWolvez, ya’ll have my cell number. For those that need to get in touch, funnel that through our officers, as I’m out of touch until March 1st. I’m headed for Daytona Florida.

But in closing, why is it that the Times News can’t smell the coffee burning, and put together a paper that makes people want to read it. By comparison , the Deseret News costs 1.75 and has real news. By the way the Hazzard Gazzette is free, or by subscription for $12.00 a year.

HazzardAyre19 A fan of simplicity

hazzardayre blog header AyreWolf Watch Header1

I am a great fan of simplicity. If anything makes my task or a supplier vendor makes my efforts harder or one that I need to do more, so they can supply me products and or services, I am not going back there nor will even do further business with them.

Example, took some newly discovered buckets for LiL DixieBelle to a place in Filer for a upholstery job. Told them that I wanted an inlay of a Confederate Battle Flag in the center and wings at the top. The response? I had to go to another vendor to get the inlays made and the shop in Filer would sew it up. Too much effort. Two separate bills.

Finally found an outfit in Rupert, who could not only embroider the inlays , but do the seats. This means when I’m building a true one off custom for a customer, I know I can take the seats to the guy in Rupert, pay one bill, get a jobber price for the job, and complete my work, without having to take time out of my day to, go to two vendors, and pay two bills.

Not bashing the guy in Filer, he most likely does not do that much one off work, like I require and simple stitching of fabric is his best effort. And that’s good, but if your building radical customs be it bikes or muscle cars or trick trucks at $150k a piece, you just seek out the best and go from there.

I am also a big fan of buying local. After all, I’d be put out , if a customer bought products and our services elsewhere. But instead of shrugging my shoulders and saying, “oh well” I’d rather ask myself, what can I do in my company, so that customers DON’T go elsewhere. What can I add to my services that sets me apart from both mail order and/or out of area and out of state companies doing basically the same things as I do? That’s how you innovate and why Hazzard County Choppers and Cooter’s Toewing & Garage, has been the leader of radical rides since 1979.

What else can or would you expect from a company born in Hazzard ?

HazzardAyre 18 They can’t bother me no more even if they do no one will care

hazzardayre blog header FROM THE WOLFS LAIR

There’s an old pop rock tune called Moonlight Feels Right. In the same lane , I  caught a bit of sunshine today and its a good ray. Found that , as bad as I am to some folks, found a community 70 miles east of me here, that will allow me on rotation, and dig this, shop space and so on. Is it in Idaho? Nope, Tremonton Utah. So made a connection , and Bud thinks its cool, so after this Tuesday, my ass and the rest of the Wolf Pack is out of Idaho, for good. Not only can I qualify for rotation in Utah, but , there are so many more resources available, that I can’t look this down.

I once considered Idaho as a crown jewel of the west. I thought , Idaho was a bit more progressive, but, when you see the industrial expansion in Utah, and having fiber optic Internet, even in a town about the size of Burley, only in Utah, one needs to think, no wonder Idaho is going broke.

Not only is Idaho dieing, but needing intervanias feeding from some source, but thing is most of Idaho is only up to transportation and technology, not much further than a buggy and a horse.

There ought to be a sign on the border from Utah into Idaho that sezz; “Welcome to Idaho, If you move here you’ll go broke”. A old TV ad salesman in Pocatello , once said, “ You can’t save em all” As for me , I have no desire to save any of them. But for our Idaho Knytes and AyreWolvez members, there will be a sub station service office established in Burley, but as for the rest of Idaho, hey you pooped on me , I wiped off, and now I is getting my six out of this mess. I’m tyred of drowning.

Last, because of the move as of Tuesday, I’ll not be on line as often, and the landline here in Buhl will be out of service. I will inform district command of my cell number and ya’ll can get in touch with me that way.

But AssHole Dawg and his cronies cannot no longer bother me, I is outta here. Even if they try, Utah has too many people to even care about anything POS/MHI.

See ya’ll Friday.
