There are some that never see the entire picture

new blog coverAYREWOLF'S AYRELOG HEADER

My mom had the greatest sayings of all tymez. Many of which I still think of at certain moments. Like today, when our website associate asked who was paying for him to come here for a face to face pow wow. My mom’s saying here would be; you can’t see the forest for the trees. It comes to this as well . No matter what vendor gets on board here in and for the club, remember this IS and ORGANIZATION, of 50,000 members, that’s 1000 members in all 50 states. Many of whom have companies and business’s of their own. You do a low ball cost job for the club to aid in a project, there’s 50,000 others who WILL consult you in doing something for them on an individual basis. So let’s take some numbers and crunch them. let’s say, that Richie(not my cousin Richie from the Dukes) builds a good strong front end for the clubs website, at say $2,000.. or less,. Now then its up and going, on a banner on the site it says, the Knytes-of-Anarchy site proudly built by Richie, or something to the effect. Then at a full cost , say the $6,k he first bid to us is multiplied by $50k, that’s 300 million in Richie’s pocket. Now if I was looking to make a good living, I’d be finding my own way to Twin Falls, sit down with me and THE REST of THE CLUB, and have a pow wow. I’d sped the few hundred on a $300,mil pay back any day, wouldn’t you? Its just like talent agencies, and many others, They see me and think I’m it and all there is, fact is I’m only one foot soldier and a mouthpiece and wordsmith , of 49,000 others. Do right under my watch, build something or supply something to the club and watch how fast other members start spending money for their firms at your firm. Ignore me, you ignore the club, and say goodbye to 49,000 potential clients. Its that simple. That’s seeing the forest for the trees. Eli, understands it as he was once a member of an mc and is on prospect status with the Knytes, some though don’t understand that those same grizzly bears on two wheels on the weekends have very lucrative business’s of their own . Some bike or biker or aviation related some not, but even if that member is peddling, real estate or insurance he will need a website. They will need a service that we search for in the club. Do us a good turn, the members notice soon you have orders abounding in your business. Again ignore us, it’s adios. Want a local example? Gal in Blackfoot that did our accounting for a tyme that resulted in me even being here with Charlie, did a crappy job, ignored phone calls and emails. Guess what? She ain’t no longer in business.

This is why you never ignore or piss off the WolfDON'T PISS OFF THE WOLFsince I get pee-owed, then I relate here as well as to the rest of the club, and well that vendor or associate’s future is none too purtty. Another example of a gal that was great in media. She worked as the morning anchor on News watch 6 in Pocatello. Ya’ll remember Brandi Erickson? Any mile we got to know each other as associates in broadcasting. Since she ignored us and got booted by 6 or maybe she quit, but I’ve seen from her Linked in updates that she's bounced around, like a bad $5.00 bill. If she hadn’t ignored me and the club in Pocatello a few years ago and help us build then, think of the TV thing we’d have today. The list goes on, but I think you get the idea. It’s sort of like Nurse GoodBody. She dumped us due disbelief of another conning her into disbanding. When clearly we already had enough other advertisers signed up that could have by now been putting money into us then as now. So what happens? Erin looses one job, scratches for work and only through MY recommendation gets on with a psych service here in Twin as a PSR.

So to Richie and so many others, the slight sacrifice you make, to make me happy, makes the club happy, and when you make the club happy, your wallet gets fuller.

AyreWolf’s Wolf Howl 1 Stardate 2014-21-1

WOLFS HOWL HEDDER

I read at length over the last few hours an article that is in Billboard this month about one of my major influences in radio, Howard Stern.

While it can and I do often argue that I was doing edgy radio long before Stern found his way to WNBC , still I can say with pure honesty, that Stern showed you CAN be yourself on radio , you can stretch the boundaries, of what’s believed taboo, and what really is territory left alone. I as a youth always had a fascination with anything with buttons, switches, lights and gizmos of every kind. Beit in an aircraft or in a radio studio. That’s how I stepped into the business. I first was introduced up front and personal to a cat in Utah at the KCPX AM 1320 the biggest top pop 40 station in that market at age 7. I went there as a winner of some contest you won if you sent in enough box tops from some childrens cereal. You got a feature spot on a kids morning variety cartoon show called the Fireman Frank Show, that was on the TV side of KCPX. So this evenings taping of the Fireman Frank Show, I was there, and had to go pee really bad. So walked by this big glass studio, the door was open and that control console with all those switches, and lights, this was a toy and flavor I had never tasted before, I could not resist. So there I was standing in front of this old by today’s standards GATES console, wondering do I play with this or not when Wooly Waldron, walked in. He asked me a few questions and said you want on the air? Okay, so I started reading raw air copy of some idiotic store there, shit I didn’t know what I was reading or what half the words meant , but I could pronounce them really good. About this time Mom and Dad , but mostly Mom, got a bit nervous as to where I had went, and the director of the Fireman Frank Show was getting a bit anxious to boot. So mom found me chatting on the air on KCPX, I went in and did my bit on Frank’s show, came back, Mom And Dad and some big head cheese there and Wooly, did some talking, and as long as I kept my grades up, I could come in on Friday and Saturday nights for 3 hours as there was a gap there they needed to fill. Mom and Dad used the time to be Mom & Dad and I was on the air.

Now KCPX didn’t care if I was a bit crude on air infact they encouraged it. An southern hillbilly playing top 40 rock. It was a hoot. I started putting things in about this chick I had a serious crush on in Utah, named Peggy Follett, and all about 5th grade 6th grade and Junior High. This went on until one summer we moved to Idaho.

My slot was filled by Doug Wright , now a leading broadcaster on KSL AM 1160, and for me I ached for the time I could be on air.

Despite many attempts, a preteen was not high on the ladder of places of most PD’s here to prune new on air talent from. I had a helluva time getting on. Kim Lee’s Dad Al, put me on a few months doing this bit for the Hazzard High School’s FFA Class, then KFMA 92.7 which played mostly elevator style easy listening music, did this thing called Saturday Night Dance Party. We played rock. KFMA moved up the dial, and became Z103 a pop 40 station. But it was me giving the concept of a rock FM in the Magic Valley, thanks Kim and all for giving me credit, yea right. A kick in the groin is more like it, that in a few entries. With that resource missing, Dad was buying time on then KEEP AM 1450. The clincher on the ad contract for dads truck company, was that PD Bruce Glenny, and Dave Caps to give me some air time. So a deal was struck, but at that time, the FCC required anyone on air to be licensed. There was no conditional licensing done then you had to have this little green/bluish certificate. So at age 12, Mom and Dad, gathered me and Paul J Wilson who would meet up with his parents later in the day, and to Boise where they gave the exams for the licenses. After a full days studying and a half night reading at 09:00 hours, I went in sat my butt down in this squeaky chair and answered all the questions. All 100 of them, some even on radio wave theory, and algorithms , but at the end of that testing session, I past all 100 questions 100% and had a FCC Third Class Radiotelephone License with element 9 endorsement. Now I was official.

The years past by rather rapidly after that KEEP, became KEZJ AM, as well as FM the concept behind a hot country FM KEZJ 95, was mine. Again thanks Kelly for the credit.

I was always pushing the edge. Just what could be done, what was taboo? What was imaginary or publicly frond on taboo? What music un edited could be played? One night when I was doing up some liners and promos, a good friend in the business, Mike Arms gave me a tape, and I’ll be darned if I can remember his name but this guy was off the edge, great sound and not caring if the world liked it or not. Of course that night as I had done with Paul, on KEEP, when they were on Blue Lakes, I filled in doing news casts for Mike. At the end of the newscast in a 6 minute intro to Heaven on the 7th Floor, Mike and I did this spoof, of the new hot gal at KEZJ. Her name was Kathy Adams, the gist went something to the degree of Mike asked if I had seen the new front office gal, I said I had, he said what do you think? I sad we had just came down on the elevator , he responded, but doesn’t she have a nice pair of hands? She had big breasts. After that, Mike and I were politely asked to move on. Fortunately, Mike had another job at then hit pop KFXD which really started here in Twin Falls, any mile I got a night gig on KLIX AM 1310, with another rebel radical by the name of Pete Arbogaust. This was just before KMTW was bought by KLIX , I had a evening gig there. All for one month prior to the sale. So I was there one night, at KMTW, we played some music, but I had just got off work during the day at The Bliss Stinker Station , I was pooped. So I got lazy, and put on Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon, LP. Played it all the way through and only took a commercial break when I had to turn over the record. This opened the door for album rock long version, in this valley, again thank you friends.

Next time the Birth of Long Haul Radio that was the seed for Dixie Diesel Radio goes commercial.

To the Fans of The Dukes

new blog coverGM1 IN A BOX

I was headed to bed but a notice from President Jones on his site, gives me a reason to howl and bark some.

First I think that reality TV as a whole is wrong, I don’t watch any of it when I have cable, and now that I don’t I don’t miss it. Now is it good that CMT put the Dukes back on in HD? Sure it is, lets relive those days in Hazzard once again, and I agree that promoting a Party Down South show on CMT during the Dukes, with impressionable minds of young tweens is not a wise placement of ad time. Maybe some more ads from the club and all might help but I doubt it, since CMT and its now head minds at Viacom, have made up their minds. But here’s the slider to get folks in line with a southern culture train of thought they throw the Dukes on so that the follow up can be this new southern styled version of Jersey Shores can air. Now just like Boss Hogg, TV networks and cable systems only know what’s decent, for them decency is for those who pay the most. TV is cash, its all about money. Now if a few things would happen it’d make such media conglomerates grab their BVD’s. First help the Knytes to get Confederate Steele TV going likewise HazzardAyre Radio, so that we can buy the rights to the Dukes so that we can run the Dukes on our network, that would do more than just saying to CMT Viacom ,that ya’ll don’t cotton to them running that sleaze during the Dukes. Dip in or show serious effort to a group that will reach in their back pocket, and take a money maker for CMT out of CMT’s pocket, I’ll bet you a steak at the Boars Nest, that CMT would start a rethink, and cure the problem. However that said , what’d be wrong with a cable/satellite network channel created by Dukes fans and our club, for the preservation of the Dukes as well as southern culture.

Of course I know this will fall on some deaf ears and be read with blind eyes , But again a brew at the Boars Nest, if I ever went to the club’s mail box, and saw 10 checks in there for $100.00 each or even half that to help our club to thwart CMT and all, I’d fall over with a coronary. And if ya’ll think I’m out here in Idaho just barking, about nothing or this issue to make me money I have news for you. Our media efforts will go on, I’m dedicated to all things Hazzard County, more so than probably 70% of all Dukes fans. But the Knytes need your help. Why not sacrifice that new video game, or that one night out with the family, take that same amount and send it to: HazzardAyre Fund, care of the Knytes-of-Anarchy 120 Washington Twin Falls Idaho 83301.

If just 50% of all Duke fans backed us, we’d have the rights to the Dukes, we’d have our network back on, and the Dukes on that network , then ya’ll really will have gave the shaft to CMT and Viacom.

It’s 03:00 here I need sleep, but ya’ll think about this, if ya’ll love Cooter, Bo & Luke, Sweet Daisy and darling Alma and all the rest that is this glue we call the Hazzard Nation. Then pony up. Do more than lip service.

To whom this howl tolls

new blog coverAYREWOLF'S AYRELOG HEADER

Discussions with your superiors or those in command of your resources can be difficult, if not apprehensive. However I have to have a long talk with Charlie later today and I’m not feeling easy about it.

If I can I’m going to attempt to get Charlie more in tune with an earlier departure than a later one.

In any case the office/studio move is on the HUD for the first give or take a day or so.

Saturday had a bad tire on the WolfSub, aka General Jackson, and while on an emergency I can fly to Ogden, bumb Sam’s jeep and tool around a bit, I need mobility, and Sam needs his ride to get to his vocational duties. And being as today is going to be one of a fast touch and go, from here to Charlie’s for my check, fix tire, cash my check, go out to the airport hop one of our 406L’s and fly to Ogden for the burial of Tim, (Sam’s brother) then back its going to be a big day.

There is though a time when one really needs to stand up for yourself and who you are. While grabbling gears going toewing is a feeling like nothing else, more over leaving the ground at rising to through the clouds to 20,000 feet , then hurling through sky at 400mph, is one of a ultimate adrenalin rush, the fact is I’m both those things, but I also discovered something yesterday and I’m now even more stoked on radio.

One of those that I interned with at KEEP AM 1450(now KEZJ AM) is now President and station owner for one of Cox Media’s stations. Paul J Wilson, and I ran overnights at KEEP him weekends , me weeknights. Sometimes me doing news duty him playing tunes. Paul stuck in there when I retreated and went on different career paths. Paul went to Salt Lake City, worked on KCPX a station I did in its early days, but the wrap is, ever since I was about 8 years old I have loved radio, being on it, being in it, always looking for a way for both my radio aspirations and my OTR Trucker ambitions to come together. Which did eventually came together through the TeenAge Truckers Association and into the Knytes. Strangely , my cousin Richie Montgomery, played the DJ radio person on the Dukes of Hazzard on WHOGG AM 1090. Which by the highway is KDOH AM 1090 West Point Idaho. I love radio. I’ve seen what it can do if deployed wisely . Example at the formation of the TeenAge Truckers Association, it was a small 45 minute gig at 11:00AM on KLHS FM 89.1 called Long Haul Radio, the seed of Dixie Diesel Radio, that brought in the members for the TTA. I saw our small outlaw station garner in tons of members and sponsors through the late 70’s early 80’s into the 90’s. I was there when Dixie Diesel, pulled a Grammy for most innovative radio program for a vocational radio show. Of course the written press crawled over that like maggots over a fresh kill, but the fact is we got somewhere. Sure there are downsides. I was jailed over a weekend and a day, when I muttered a joke about running for Sheriff of Power County, and making one certain deputy main under Sheriff , during an election, but radio has power. Your going to get backlash and people who want to ridicule.

Of course there is now. Over the last year I have undergone not only ridicule , but hazing from a few of Charlie’s people , to being delayed, upon delay on launching HazzardAyre OTA, as well as refyring online. But here’s the thing there is a better way. Ogden is not the panacea that people think that I think it is. Utah has its draw backs, likewise its problems. But it does have several things two of which is good for the station, likewise the club, and a booster that I’ll get into in a few here.

Ogden has a office/studio for $175.00 that we have except for a few dotting of the I’s and crossing T’s, is ours. Two Ogden gives us and I can’t say enough of her, not that I have any fascination here, with her, but her professionality, as well as efficiency. Laura at Comcast is riding right along, with the club, to enable us to get the kind of web connection and all that HazzardAyre Radio/TV needs to be the rising phoenix she can be. It’s one thing to try and coax, a signal up at 1mbps or get music, news and such down at barely .09mbps , but I’d rather take my chances running over a stream of 100mbps, and a up of 50mbps. And third , being out the back door of a regional military aviation hub, like Hill Air Force Base, is a plus. Finally having a hangar over near Morgan that we can rent for six months to a year, and the AyreWolvez being able to buy, shortly after means a grand facility, that can be ours for the long flyte. So It all makes sense.

Then there is the simple things, like my Mexicali neighbor next door and his fancy white blazer. I have to do one helluva mule skinning job just to get in and out of the parking spot, because he can’t move that thing back two or three feet. What would happen if I backed into that Blazer? I’ve got Wolf-Pup, backed to the sidewalk, and I have to park LexiBelle two miles down the street. Bullstuff.

But I remember one night a year and a half ago, in September 2012. After the thugs had to steal from LexiBelle, poke a hole in the fuel tank and smash her NEW windshield in Burley, which is why I moved out there to sleep. There at the shop, amongst no cable, no internet and all woke up one night went to the potty with a newsrag that I snaked from radio former pal Kim Lee, he ain’t no pal any more. His Dad is kool, but Kim screwed the club over on a $400K buy of KBAR and well most of you know the rest. Any mile it was sitting on the potty, and knew that night, it was time to get serious about HazzardAyre, more than ever.

The political turmoil in this nation, the desecration of our rights, freedoms and liberties. The overwhelming need of the government into our daily lives, even such things as a FCC agency saying you can’t put a station there because it might step on someone’s signal, when there is no viable signal anywhere on a channel we picked. That’s a subject for another time, but the short fact is, for reasons beyond good reasons I am not a Twin Falls lover anymore. Not saying Idaho sucks, there are many pristine areas all over Idaho. The outdoors, the vast canyons, and all are breathtaking. But when I get some snot nosed girl just barely dry behind the ears calling Charlie’s better half bitching about me. When delays are created by Mandy’s, Joni’s, and others, and when idiots jack the price of a shop from $250.00 a month, to $750.00 a month, that last one forced the elections of a whole new bunch of people throughout the club. Hell I almost lost my slot in the chain of command. It was only when I volunteered to command the AyreWolvez that I got to retain my authority in both the Knytes as well as the sibling AyreWolvez.

Long story made short enough. But considering the time of 02:16 hours I need to hit the rack. But I am having the conversation with Charlie today, fixing tires , and then headed to Ogden for Tim's burial.

Flying is the secret

new blog coverAWNITERYDEHEADER_thumb

I got an unintended backdraft from a former thorn in my side about how can you be in Utah at a funeral, with both your rides in front of your house? Simple, remember I fly. A quick ride in a TAXI company car that we toew for, to the airport here in Ogden, a flyte plan filed and our Bell 406 is in the air. Land at Twin Falls, again a car ride to the house, do what I need, then do it all in the same order in reverse.

When you learn to fly the world opens up to possibilities that you never imagined. Be it fixed wing or chopper and I’m not talking choppers with two wheels. Two maybe 3 hours at the most depending on weather, and its breakfast in Scottsdale Arizona, or lunch in Burbank that is if you can afford the fuel which is right at $8.50 to $10.00 a gallon. It takes just under $1,500.00 to fuel our birds. The one 406 Bell is on alert for med flights the other for SAR missions. The rest are open shell choppers made for chemical application of farm products. The fixed winged byrds are three Air Tractors, with a new one just ordered. The final is one that is flown the least, except for air shows. LuciBelle>spec_f4unot LexiBelle>Lexi in green is a WWII F4U Corsair we built at our hangar at Bountiful SkyPark, three years ago. It is owned in part by AyreWolf Aviation, and the AyreWolvez Aviation Association.  But that’s how I’m able to transverse the two areas without running in a car. Oh and if your wondering why I don’t just fly to see Eli, I don’t know where the closest airport is to him, and both 406’s have to remain in our area for their intended SAR work. The other reason, both the Air Tractors are not set up for passengers, nor cold winter flight. It damn cold up there. But a brisk flight on a bright morning just as the sun crests the Wasatch range at 10,000 feet is an experience one has to be hold.

I discovered a Canon GL-2 on Ebay, and am looking for another. The reason? So I can take good video to show ya’ll I’m not blowing smoke that I fly. Those members of the club know better, but we have doubting Thomas’s and Betty’s out there that call such things into question. My weight restriction has been lifted for regional flight, but not trans-con flight until I get a review from the FAA on both my diabetes and sleep apnea situation. That’ll require some seat time with a CFI, and that’s numero uno why I’m frothing at the prop, to go to Utah to Upper Limit Aviation there. To qualify, for all my flight upgrades I have to loose 40 to 50 pounds. So on a very strict diet.

But now you know.

Next entry the ayre show for 2014 and the Ayre half of HazzardAyre.

It’s nice to have more than one place to have breakfast on a Sunday morning.

blogpicnew blog cover

I woke up just a few ago here at Sam’s house. The guest house he put me in is nice. Not as spacious as my domicile in Tweaker Flatts, but livable. Not that Sam is ready for me to rent it as his son lives in most of the time, but for Tim’s burial and all here I sleep.

It’s nice to have multiple places to get a egg and toast than one lowly dive like in Tweaker Flatts.

So I was having my meal, and was tuned in on a conversation in a booth just over my shoulder. Something to do with a gifted teen, asking is there such a thing as a real ANT farm, program in any school?

So I went home and Googled, I know a information source that has become a mission of ignorance since there was no results, except reviews of the Disney Channel TV show.

I can remember in the mid to late 60’s early 1970’s, Hazzard High had something like the gifted program, Supplemented by a Montgomery Foundation grant and funding from the Department of Education from the Feds.

The main source there was albeit prehistoric by today’s standards, but a visual production facility with enough gear to establish a TV station. Funny that never happened. The real reason that program, succeeded was Mrs. Hobson. She ran that facility ran better than the proverbial Swiss watch. The end here of this story there was one. The question is, is there real ANT or Advanced-Natural-Talent programs in today’s schools. if not , why not?

With a Federal holiday, and I can’t imagine why, but Martin Luther King Junior day is Monday, so no funds available from Charlie, and even if he cut a check couldn’t cash it anyway, so I am staying here another day.

For those that need to know, Tim’s Funeral is Tuesday 2:00PM(14:00_) at the 11th Ward LDS Church on Gordon Avenue in Layton. Let’s see a full showing guys, Tim was a cool guy in many ways.

Family and I are getting ready for church, first time I been in an LDS Church in ten years. Hope the roof don’t fall in and no lightning strikes.

Talk at ya’ll in the PM.

The Reaper is gone, we live the life of Qunos

hazzard daybreakGM1 IN A BOX

As I sit here this morning while this house is silent and I slave away at the keyboard, holding my head with one hand, too much of a warriors departure to Stovacore, at Warren’s Burgers in Roy Utah last night and way too much at the Sheep’s Pen last night, the yearly Knytes-of-Anarchy Officers Summit for the Mountain West Charter, took place and I’m excited of some of the changes, although its going to compound my work load. I really need office help. Any mile, the one thing that we all agreed on was that its time to push out of the shadows of a soon to be exhausted TV show, and its imagery.

In a year, Sons of Anarchy will be done. About a year or so after for many it will be forgotten. While the image of the Reaper is and has been center focus of much of our clubs graphics its time to shed that.

The real organization is more aligned with the philosophy of Quonos or for the unknowing Klingon thread. Our rights of passage or escalation of members to points of power in the club, our blood ceremony, all of that is of Qunos teachings and folklore. So we are recreating our center image from this>KOA LOGO SOLO to this>NEW CLUB PATCH. Beyond the symbolic changes coming to the club, is it has been tried before without much success but again we will grind away, to make it happen this year. The club even as the Hazzard Knytes, never has had a set of bylaws, or constitution carved out nor a written code of ethics or even club history. To whit we shall begin that process. Much of this is to obtain a real to life 501-3-c none profit tax structure. Reason being the club in all its aspects and aspirations and subsidiaries, is aiming to get away from the so much outlaw ways and more in tune with legitimacy. While some protectional and honor guard procedures will remain , there are some things we as a whole organization of 50,000 want to begin to distance ourselves from. Additionally re-establish our young Knytes group aka, TeenAge Truckers Association, to begin bringing in a new crop of young Knytes from off spring of current club members.

I will say that after 8 baskets of those luscious beer battered onion rings at Warren’s my inner stomach wants to put much of my insides into the bog.

Before I go, this morning to get some sleep for the run back to Idaho. First as I have been reporting the club’s radio media werx is still poised to move to Ogden next month. However due to my commitments here and some mechanical vehicle restrictions for a few months I wont be. I’ll just commute betwixed Tweaker Flatts and Ogden.

Last, yesterday while I waited for Wolf-Pup to get back to Tweaker Flatts from Buhl so I could come here to Layton to help arrange things for Tim’s burial , I took the General over to Charlies, mainly looking for an empty gas can to get some go juice to fire LexiBelle up with. Once I got to the yard, Charlie needed a cb R&R’d to a truck along with antenna and all. The wiring was simple, but the getting up and down in trucks with all to narrow steps, and contorting to get hands into places for wiring, I used body parts and muscles I haven’t used in months. To whit body is sore.

Any mile need to catch some z’s , see you in the eve, Oh and to Eli; need to do our test fire Monday, as I need to catch some $’s from Charlie to buy that wire we need.
