The question is in reply to many points made through I don’t know how many articles I read on the subject of trailer truck custom shows and/or jamborees. I fully agree that there ought to be at least a regional even in either Utah and/or Idaho. The Dixie-Diesel Nationals was the only one, until the decision was made in 1997 to retitle the damn thing to TruckFest West, and trying to locate the right location with the open mindset needed for such a thing has been daunting to say the least. There are just so many communities that will tolerate a bunch of renegade confederate long haul and just plain truckers in one place. Let alone having both truck and female beauty contests, Wet T Shirt as well as Wet Wrangler Jean Contests and both the noise as well as the volume of both people as well as trucks. Podunk anywhere is not going to attract political types that author and make trucking industry policy as would a metro area.
The project was dropped after the Hazzard County Road Warriors consolidated under both The Knytes-of-Anarchy as well as the UAITA. When that happened the goal was to help regarding policy, rather than frills. Of course shortly there after came the piss poor economy that I told you would happen both online, in Goons Ferry, on the radio in Gooding and when the bastard declared his candidacy when I did on Cable Access TV. Getting back to a major trucker/trucking jamboree/show in the west.
I’m here to tell ya’ll that a mini, Dixie Diesel Nationals is being planned in Burley at the Cassia County Fairgrounds in July 2013, depending on weather etc.
Outside of that, TruckFest West, is on hold until such tyme as the economy and mindset catch up to the idea. As it is Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas , is one in our area, The Reno Tow Show, that rolled out last week is two, and the one in Utah that is barely a truck show, that happens at Thanksgiving hill park in Lehi Utah.
When both the money, reserved attitude, and all combine or align then You’ll see TruckFest , but not until.
