As it was said on the Dukes, when Enos went to California to be LAPD’s top detective, is any place ready for this. After all field training in Hazzard can be Well HAZZARDOUS after all few places are like Hazzard.
Here in our area of Idaho we are somewhat blessed, with a town that so mirrors the Hazzard we saw on TV that Hagerman Idaho, became Hazzard at least in image and nick name. Might have been why the Knytes was founded there, likewise where the Hazzard County Garage, at least the real Hazzard County Garage was founded.
But I’m veering off the subject road here.
There’s a call, from our Pastor asking for more involvement of the congregation into church ministries. No problem, but question is, is the church ready for the challenge of us from Hazzard?
I don’t know how many times I have put myself out there asking for opportunities to serve. After all, Jesus said in Mathew, “ Never ask to be served, but how you can serve”. But I get the , we’ll get ahold of you brush off. Guess Hazzard County tenacity gets to some of these Yankees.
Its fair to say, that Hazzard-ites are more than just you run of the wool confederates. We’re a lot more fight the system, aggressive than many are. We see a need or opportunity we go after it, and make it happen, even though the revenuers and others say, can’t be done, or shouldn’t be done. Perhaps its God through the power of Hazzard giving us the shove in the back and bur under our saddles to do this and that. Yes you have to get that with this, they are a set, no unpackaging them. It’ll take a few hours for Yankee’s to figure that one out.
For all the things you saw on TV, for all the story lines and Hollywood, the Knytes-of-Anarchy originally the Hazzard County Knytes, are Hazzard County. After all Hazzard County is not just a place or location or coffee stop, Hazzard County is a place in the heart and soul and those of us who allowed Hazzard County to infect us, we are much better off. We believe in the sayings of, Just because it ain’t , don’t mean it can’t. Or instead of asking why, ask why not? Instead of asking why here? Why not here? Again I detoured.
It was those memories of things Hazzard County and those Duke Boys, that kept me sane in both Iraq during my two tours there with the 214, that also kept me on track in Afghanistan . Something would face me, and I’d ask what would Bo & Luke do? Or how would Enos deal with this? All too many times it was Hazzard County that helped me keep it together, when a buddy would get blasted by an IED . Some might ask how our squadron identified with the Dukes-of-Hazzard. The same person who played Boss Hogg, also played the preacher on Black Sheep Squadron, the TV drama, written by founder Greg Boyington, aka Pappy. More over here are things to think of. The CB handle of the Dukes, was the Black Sheep. Uncle Jessie on the cb was Shepherd , Daisy was BO PEEP. More over Luke Duke was a properly discharged Marine. Accident? I don’t think so.
The one TV show that we could get often on Armed Forces TV was the Dukes.
The results are that in many ways, the nick name of the Knytes-of-Anarchy is the Confederate Marines. Keeping that legend alive and teaching those no knowing what it really is about to be Confederate. Brining them awareness of Dixie Broadcasting online, and rebroadcasting same here over the air with our Hazzard County enhancements, on HazzardAyre Radio. Its just like I get asked about the reason behind the gold wings in many of our hedders and graphics, on this blog etc. The Knytes-of-Anarchy, as well as sister group the AyreWolvez are discharged aka reassigned, USMC/NAVY Pilots(aviators) , we love our Dukes and just as the General Lee, we love to fly. So golden wings are part of us. Its like the adage of many mc’s , if you don’t ride you’ll never understand, in us, if your not a Hazzard County fan, you’d never understand.
So to our friends at The River Christian Fellowship, you gave the challenge to us to serve, now the question is , are you ready for the challenge of Hazzard County? Are you ready to accept the Knytes-of-Anarchy, remember out of anarchy comes order.
