Shortly after I reluctantly relocated to Buhl from Bliss, a move that was perpetrated by my DAV/PSR, I was standing in line at Riddleys Market , and related that I was one of many, bringing a radio station to Buhl. When the check out clerk said she had not heard of it , although we have tried on numerous occasions to get the Buhl Herald to do up a revised article on the gig, I was not terribly surprised. Since getting anything in the Buhl Herald is like pulling teeth out of a rooster.
Then there was the studio spot. First one was way over budget, at $400.00 a month plus utilities, the second choice while good did not have the proper infrastructure as far as wiring etc, and putting in a heap amount of work into a place that we don’t own is foolish. Remember the $5,000.00 roof redoux in Goons Ferry? Then was all the fuss over so much manure of getting someone trained even one to go in and do shows and schedule programming. Was about as useful as putting a milk bucket under a bull.
So then too, no airport hangar space, for AyreWolf Aviation, and so it goes. And gone we soon will be.
Glad I saved the money of membership dues to the Buhl Chamber of Commerce, and rent and all at the studio/office.
Dejavu? Perhaps, but that same store clerk said it best, as I was leaving that first day here, “nothing worthwhile ever stays in Buhl” Now I know why.
