Idaho’s technical infrastructure is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine

a NEW HAZZARDAYRE HEDDERHAZZARDAYRE AFTER HOURS

If you caught the show earlier this evening you caught a good one, considering the technical problems. 80% of those problems were based on Internet connectivity. Or lack there of. True having my own pipeline might improve things, but Cable-One in their greed decided to double bill me in late February, early March and thus I’m relying on wifi. Which works 60% of the time. The answer for us of course is two, snoop into something like HughesNet, or Wild Blue, wait till the bill at Cable-One is paid then resubscribe or move the heart of the network to Utah, where even with its hiccups with Comcast, kicks ass over Cable-One. You’d think that people here would be up in arms over the slowness, and constant dropped signals. You’d think that there would be a solution, and we’re looking into all of it, including laying out a ton of cash to get our own pipeline, not just a connection to a provider like Cable-One, but be our own Internet connection provider. All to bring you the very best over the road and gear head style radio.

However its not just us, consider that Tom Luna State of Idaho’s Schools got a bill passed that’s supposed to connect every kid in Idaho to the Internet to get an education. If a kid tries to download a lesson, it’ll be nearly when he or she graduates b4 he gets the lesson from first grade downloaded.

Many teachers, mostly in the more populace area will get new lap tops, to provide lesson materials. Guess what ? At Cable-One speed the teacher will be collecting a pension b4 they get the first lesson downloaded, much less try to upload, shit, most of Idaho’s kids could be graduated from college b4 they can upload their first test.

Idaho’s population is not enough for any serious provider or computer connection service to invest serious cash into improving home bound Internet that is better and a 4 second reaction time Internet . But hey Cable-One claims 50 meg speed, bullsbreath. Yet I paid for 50 meg speed. Maybe Cable One ought to refund my account the price of a 20 meg connection, since that’s purtty much what I got on good days. Or why does Cable One bark 50 meg speed , when even their techs here in Burley says that ain’t possible here? My Dad said don’t advertise something ya’ll ain’t got for sale.

If I held my breath for that refund, I’d turn blue b4 I ever got it. But hey I’ve been wrong b4, might be again, but I seriously doubt it. PMT here in Mini Cassia ain’t much better. Just to be fair, your lucky if you get a 10 meg connection with PMT.

Its not just computers, Idaho is still going backwards and technological advancements will not show up here . It’s a simple fact the old farts that live here don’t want to pay for it. And the youth, go to Boise or Salt Lake, and that’s why you see things a bit better there than in Mini Cassia.

But we here in the Knytes-of-Anarchy keep fighting to get ya’ll what others cain’t. Remember out of Anarchy, comes order.

More Monday.
