From the WF files, its nice to know that there are those who respect and remember. Who will extend themselves beyond their little tight knit group/
I’m not one to complain or even attempt to feel sorry for myself.
I looked at the people the other night at our church group. There were people’s there with every kind of problem, that I began to feel like royalty. To be honest, I was there for the worshiping and the free coffee and grub.
but some occasional thank you’s of what myself and even the Knytes have done for the Duke kingdom.
Do you all realize that it was Saturday in 1974 that Gaylord Broadcasting that had just got the airing rights to the Dukes, began running the Dukes on TNN(now Spike) ? Of course anyone in TV and all knows that CMT is TNN(Spike’) Cousin, and both are now owned by MTV.
Do you think it was a mere coincidence that the Dukes showed up there? It was not the lobbying efforts by some fans alone, but the Knytes extending the hand of, telling Gaylord Broadcasting who own Opryland in Nashville, through telling Gaylord, that we’d buy the hour or two of the show every day. Do you realize it was the Knytes buying that hour on every damn TV station in two regions both southwest and Mountain West that was running the syndicated runs of the Dukes. Yet do We get a thank you, a tip of the hat? No. You’d think that SOME people had done that all by themselves. Nobody, and I do mean NOBODY has fought or continues to fight for all things Hazzard more that I do, nor the Knytes-of-Anarchy.
But I don’t even get a Happy Birthday, from those I’m most close to in the organization of the so called holders of things, like Ben nor that bunch. Don’t you think its our turn?
To whit, The Knytes at our coffee clutch this afternoon, is reworking DukesFest West as just simply, the Hazzard Nationals. A celebration our way of all things Hazzard.
We still have every intention of having Cooter Garage Band , Emma Leigh and all here. Since Shooter is doing up music for SOA, since his wife , plays the first wife of Jax on SOA, we are bringing Shooter here, as well as some of the cast of SOA here. And of course every kind of redneck hellbilly hot rod, truck, toew truck and custom bike you can imagine along with aircraft, like The Lady herself being here. The Lady in case you didn’t know is the code name of the helicopter from AirWolf.
But once in awhile as faithful as we have been to things Dukes, you’d think a thank you is deserved.

Of course nothing of or from Hazzard is Hazzard.
In bio’s from many one character from the original pilot, was a revenuer agent, not just the greasy tow truckin mechanic that many think. Two: Robert Lee, was one of the cousins, not just the famed Confederate General, nor the hot rod Dodge Charger. The orange car was from an old Chevy that was a getaway car of the gal in the original movie, MoonRunners.
Yes some things did transition. Uncle Jessie, and Sheriff Roscoe, Waylon doing balladeer duties etc, but that’s all. Oh and the Character Cooter in the Moonrunners was a bad guy, not the beloved mechanic of Hazzard that we know and love. The town they were from was Shiloh, NOt Hazzard. Imagine if the series would have picked up from the movie? Oh and yes, Bo, was not a blonde Nascar wannabe, in the original series, Boregard was a mule.
